We are supporting Kelly in her mission to raise awareness about Sepsis after losing her brother to the infection last August. Here is Kelly’s story:
My name is Kelly; I very sadly lost my brother in August 2022. Ashley was 36 when he died. Ashley was the kindest, funniest person you could meet. He was my best friend, as well as my rock through times of trouble.
Sepsis is a cruel, aggressive, unforgiving infection that stole my wonderful brother. He had gone in the space of a few days from being a healthy 36-year-old to lying in intensive care, and the doctors told us there was nothing more they could do, and we needed to turn the life support machines off. How is that even possible?
We are approaching the 1st of May, which would have been his 37th birthday, the 1st of his birthdays without him. I have decided I need to focus on raising awareness about the symptoms of sepsis and will be trying to support The UK Sepsis Trust in any way I can. I have signed up for a 31-mile hill hike along the southwest coast in August. All money raised will help the trust in Educating as well as supporting families and survivors. If anyone can find it in their heart to support me with a donation, however small, every penny counts. I will be eternally grateful.
